On August 22st and 23nd, the CarinPT team was present in Aalborg, Denmark, to present and discuss findings from the project activities at the Conference ‘Mobilities Controversies – Place, Justice, Democracy’ of the Center for Mobilities and Urban Studies (C-MUS).
In these challenging times, the conference aimed to explore contemporary mobilities as ‘matter of concern’ in the light of controversy, and to have an open mind to the many human and non-human systems, agencies, and infrastructures that shapes the world we now inhabit. The conference wanted to home in on important dimensions of these mobilities controversies, among which the dimension of social exclusion and justice, as well as the dimension of democracy and citizen engagement.
The session ‘Participatory approaches’ hosted both the presentation of the Flanders team about the Flanders Living Lab and epistemic justice in PT planning, as well as the presentation of the Swedish team about the Synthesis work, reflecting on ULL’s democratic qualities for mobility justice.
